mirador (The Lookout)
El Mirador (the lookout) , situated on the hotel's roof terrace, offers splendid views across Barcelona. It's made up of an authentic open balcony that opens out onto the city, with privileged views down onto Passeig de Gracia, to the temple of Sagrada Familia and Mount Tibidabo.
It's situated in a privileged location just off of via "Diagonal" the 30m wide approach to the hotel feeds in directly from the majestic "Paseo de Gràcia" that descends in a straight line all the way down to the emblematic "Plaza de Cataluña". The tree lined boulevard that leads up to the hotel entrance conserves it's historic charm from back when it was chosen by Barcelona' bougeousie as the place to build their family homes with the help of the most celebrated architects of that time. There are innumerable testaments to modernism's glorious splendor such as : Gaudí's, "la Casa Batlló", with its characteristic undulated poly-chromed surface and "Casa Milà" which is more commonly known as " la Pedrera". And next door to all of these lies the work of yet another genius modernist architect, Lluís Domènech i Montaner, whose work includes other emblematic buildings such as " la Casa Lleó Morera" and of course the "Casa" that now houses "Hotel Casa Fuster".
